Do you know the term “Cubano sato”?

The famous American writer Ernest Hemingway had a deep relationship with Cuba, where he lived for almost 20 years. It was in this country that he wrote his major work "The Old Man and the Sea", which won him the Pulitzer Prize in 1953. When he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature a year later, he declared that he was the first "cubano sato" to receive the prize, an expression that reflects his sense of identity with the Cuban people. Known for his strong taste for alcohol, Hemingway was particularly fond of Cuban cocktails, including the famous Daiquiri he drank in the now mythical Havana bar: the Floridita for the Daiquiri. Daiquiri is a cocktail made from rum and lime juice. Its name comes from a beach near Santiago de Cuba and an iron mine that was in the area.

For all our Cuban followers, what do you think about Ernest Hermingway and his admiration for Cuban culture?
